During the construction of the Metro tunnels in the area between Agia Marina and Korydallos stations, it was necessary to remove the temporary dome supporting the tunnel.
Representatives of the construction company contacted us to supply a safety solution during the removal since the same techniques and methodology will be used in other metro stations under construction.
Together with the Technical Advisors of the project our technicians visited the location to devise a system that would keep all personnel safe during such a procedure. They evaluated elements such as safe access for the removal of workers from the dome as well as a method to remove the dome itself.
The study resulted to the design of a portable safe work at height system consisting of anchorage points, a lifeline, a retractable fall arrester and body harness. The construction workers were trained by Stop instructors authorized and certified by the system manufacturer in the proper use of the system.
